What are Zithromax tablets and Zithromax powder? Zithromax is engraved with the brand name and even generic name of a medication. A new study suggests that antibiotics can increase antibiotic resistance rates in many countries. But the drug is only used in patients who are at high risk of developing antibiotic resistance. The study, presented at the American Society for Microbiology’s International Conference in London, was authored by the University of California San Francisco professor of pharmacy, and Dr. John D. Healy, a professor of medicine at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine, and colleagues, from San Francisco State University.
A new study showed that antibiotic use increases the rate of antibiotic resistance among patients with moderate to severe bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and ear infections. These results were published in theInternational Journal of Antimicrobial Resistanceon January 8.
“The fact that antibiotics are used in a subset of patients who are at high risk of developing antibiotic resistance suggests that it may be appropriate to consider the addition of antibiotics,” says Healy. “This could provide opportunities for patients to more effectively use antibiotics.”
The study was co-authored by Healy and colleagues, along with Dr. Healy, an assistant professor of medicine at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine and his colleagues from San Francisco State University.

“Antibiotics can be used to treat infections caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and certain other pathogens,” says Healy. “The study showed that in a subset of patients, antibiotic exposure is significantly increased in those with a history of severe infectious disease, as well as in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and a history of antibiotic exposure.”
The researchers were able to confirm the results of the study, as well as the results of previous studies.

“Our findings may offer evidence that the antibiotic has a broad spectrum of activity against these organisms,” the researchers conclude.
The researchers also note that the drug was effective against most respiratory and urinary tract infections, including pneumonia.
